GOP staffer apologizes after calling out Malia and Sasha Obama

A GOP staffer has apologized after calls were made for her to be sacked following a post she made on Facebook on Thursday November 27th calling president Obama's 16 year old Malia and 13 year old Sasha 'classless teenagers with no good role models' because of the outfits they wore to accompany their dad to the the turkey pardoning ceremony at the White House. ELIKEM AND POKELLO NARE GETS MESSY ON INSTAGRAM

Zimbabwean Pokello Nare and Elikem Kumordzi who’s from Ghana ‘were’ one of Big Brother Africa’s finest couple. They met in BBA The Chase house last year and the duo started dating. Fast forward to May This Year (2014). Elikem proposed to Pokello Nare at the Ghana Music Awards in Accra in front of a crowd. Apparently, their engagement was celebrated, they were congratulated and fans wished them well.

Recall that before the proposal a huge scandal went viral when news broke out that Ghanaian footballer Odartey Lamptey was not the real father of the children he had with his wife, Gloria Lamptey. Even rumours had it that Elikem and the said Gloria were secreting seeing each other, which Elikem denied.

Ex-Egypt ruler Hosni Mubarak cleared of corruption and murder charges

Former Egyptian president, Hosni Mubarak has been cleared of charges of corruption and killing of hundreds of Egyptian protesters in a revolution that toppled him in 2011.

Mubarak ruled Egypt for 29 years. The 86-year-old Mubarak was convicted in 2012 of issuing orders to kill peaceful protesters during the country's 2011 uprising and was sentenced to life in prison. He appealed and was granted a new trial last year.

Also acquitted were Mubarak's former Interior Minister Habib el-Adly and six of el-Adly's aides, who'd been accused of being connected to the deaths of 239 protesters as security forces cracked down on them in 2011. Mubarak's two sons also were acquitted Saturday of corruption.

Mubarak still has a three-year sentence for a previous conviction for embezzlement, but it not clear when he'll be freed.

Prosecutors have the option of appealing the acquittal decision.

Former Foreign Affairs Minister, Gbenga Ashiru, dies at 66

Former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Olugbenga Ashiru died today November 29th in a South African hospital after a long battle with brain tumor. He was 66 years old.

The career diplomat served as Nigerian Minister from 2011 until 2013. He was also Nigeria's High Commissioner to South Africa. May his soul rest in peace...amen.

Revolutionary greetings to all and sundry in the South West Zone, Osun state, Ife community and the generality of Great Ife Students on the hosting of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR for a special meeting with the Council of Obas in South West.

The leadership of the Students’ Union is appreciative of the listening character of the President as well as the efforts of individuals who facilitated the meeting with the President. It is imperative at this point to relay the product of the discussion with the President.

The Speaker of the SRC addressed the President and submitted the protest letter which he personally received and gave assurances that the major issue in the letter – increment in fees is going to be addressed holistically in no long time as there are other schools that are affected.
He committed himself to address welfare issues that affect OAU specifically.

Although some self-centered and politically-sponsored individuals attempted to unleash their demonic resolutions to deter and dissuade the union leaders from making pressing demands that will enhance the welfare of Great Ife students on campus, to make necessary demands for the reversal of fees and the reinstatement of some of our suspended students from the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

On his way out, the president stepped out to the cheers of the students, receiving a lot of applause from the entirety of Great Ife students and commuters having heard that he had committed himself on the increment.

Meanwhile, just as the Union President conveyed to His Excellency, we again implore the president to stick to his promise, as a man of honour and integrity, as Great Ife students are in great anticipation and expectancy. The cheers you received today at the time you were leaving were premised on the fact that we believed you will address the increment immediately. Mr President, the reversal of increased fees should also be extended to all Federal Universities and pump funds into education in the interest of the country.

However, we condemn the attitude of some individuals who portrayed themselves as elements of frustration and cheap political tools.

Through this medium, we warn them to stay away from OAU campus as they are not unknown to the leadership of the union. We maintain our ground as Intellectual Fighters for Emancipation and not as uncoordinated confusionists and anarchists.

The leadership of the Union is very much undistracted in the maximization of this opportunity to solve the myriad of problems confronting Great IFE students. We also remain committed to the execution of our proposed projects and the completion of ongoing ones– Angola and Mozambique hall water projects, Great IFE app, Union website, and buses for campus shuttle, union hostel, among others.

The Mexican forward smashed in three goals to give the former Manchester United manager his first taste of victory in La Liga

Carlos Vela 's hat-trick earned David Moyes a first win in charge of Real Sociedad as his new side beat Elche 3-0 on Friday.

Moyes' reign at Anoeta began with a dour 0-0 stalemate at Deportivo La Coruna last Saturday, but Vela was on hand to inspire the Scot's team this week.

It took just three minutes for Mexico international Vela to score the first goal of Moyes' tenure, as he met Carlos Martinez's cross from the right with a bullet header.

By no means did Sociedad have it all their own way, though, with Elche's highly rated Brazilian forward Jonathas causing all sorts of problems for Gorka Elustondo and Ion Ansotegi at centre-back.

But Moyes' men looked lethal on the counterattack and Vela netted his second of the game at the end of an incisive breakaway just after the half-hour mark, finishing low after a brilliant lofted pass from captain Xabi Prieto.

And Vela again proved a thorn in the visitors' side early in the second half, the former Arsenal man completing his hat-trick in the 53rd minute by poking through a defender's legs and into the bottom-left corner.

The win lifts Sociedad three points above the Liga relegation zone, while Elche remain second from bottom.
